This conference aims to provide you with the knowledge and tools necessary to navigate the complex world of special education law. Our expert speaker, Attorney Pete Wright of, will cover a wide range of topics, including:

Pete Wright is an engaging speaker and attorney who obtained a unanimous U.S. Supreme Court decision on a case that has benefited thousands of children with disabilities (Florence County v. Carter), and he will share tips and strategies that have worked at every level–from IEP meetings through due process hearings up to the Supreme Court! Throughout the day, you’ll learn how to effectively advocate for children, network with like-minded individuals, and gain valuable insights. Whether you’re a parent seeking to secure a truly appropriate education for your child or a professional looking to enhance your understanding of special education law, this conference is for you.

Conference registration is $250 and includes continental breakfast; lunch; coffee breaks; a Wrightslaw highlighter pen; and three Wrightslaw books (paper and PDF versions), including the 2023 edition of Wrightslaw: Special Education Law, Wrightslaw: From Emotions to Advocacy, 2nd Ed., and Wrightslaw: All About IEPs. The three print and pdf books retail for $103.70!

A one-hour consultation with a special education attorney could cost $400-$500. For $250, you can spend the entire day learning from Pete Wright and enjoy all of the above!

Discount parking passes are available at registration. All day parking at the CT Convention Center’s parking garage will cost $11.

The Hartford Hilton is a five-minute drive or a 15-minute walk to the CT Convention Center. The Hilton Hartford is also on the Hartford Dash shuttle route. The shuttle is FREE and connects downtown hotels to the Convention Center.


Bradley International Airport (BDL) is approximately 25 minutes to the venue.

Train station

The Amtrak station in Hartford is approximately five minutes away.
